What exactly the buyers are after for Spring Summer 2015

So there are a few people at fashion shows who are not just there to sit there and look vacant like Kim Kardashian - seriously what else does that woman do besides capture her 'essence' in a selfie every five seconds lest she fade away into obscurity....

RANT OVER.

Yes, there are few people who sit F-ROW who are actually working and not werking. This includes the critics, the journalists and the most featured creatures of all - the buyers.

Everyone reckons the journalists make or break a show and believe me, they can. However, the buyers are the ones that bring the money. They are trained fashionable vultures that watch a show and gleam out the things they like and order it in bulk for their stores. If your sitting at one of these shows with this job title then chances are, your ordering for the big boys. The buyers are under pressure to get it right and get it right repeatedly. If they order a dud no seller then it costs the store surplus stock that has to be shifted out. If it is a winner then the shop makes a profit on the piece and therefore, a profit in general. This means that the buyer MUST know their client, market trends, fashion trends, street trends and have a general feeling about the way a new season will go.

After all, if no one wants to wear 80s prints in a season dedicated to the 70s then your screwed. I've seen many a brand sunk by bad buyers. I won't name names though.

So the buyer will attend many shows, watch the collections, place orders for bits of each and then sit back and start the panic about the right or wrong choices he or she may have made. But the stuff that appears in shops will shape some of our trends and how we dress.

Here are some of the orders placed for Spring Summer by the big boys including Barneys. Yes American stores but still......

Vests from Givenchy. I think this is the only one that I don't understand. I don't understand it because I cannot see what the hell it is. Its so busy that I can't focus on one thing. I actually hate this. Apparently I'm alone in this thought.
White from Haider Ackermann. White for Spring is hardly a ground breaker but I have to admit that this speaks to me. I am guessing this has something to do with it being from Haider Ackermann who I love.
Altuzarra and their bold and clashing stripes.
The twisted gladiator sandal. This is the closest description I can give it. Its like a gladiator but with more bells and whistles. Oh and in a 1970s color choice as well. Although nothing on earth will persuade me to wear snakeskin. Shudder. I feel the same way about snakeskin that I do about houndstooth prints - not good. Not good at all.
Oh and the images are from Chloe and Carven although Valentino was also involved in the trend too.
Sheer panels and granny pants. Giamba featured sheer dresses over granny pants with cute prints. Get ready for this trend because people are getting all levels of excited over it. I don't think with my almost 30 bum rolls that I could pull this off anymore. I used to wear and approach hot pants with pride and no shame - now I think about the thoughts and feelings of others before I force them to look at that.
